FAQ

What does a postpartum doula do?

A postpartum doula provides emotional, physical, and practical support to families during the early weeks after birth. I help with newborn care, feeding guidance, light household support, and emotional reassurance — so you can focus on resting, healing, and bonding with your baby.

How soon should I book postpartum doula care?

It’s best to book your postpartum support during pregnancy to secure your spot, especially if you want care immediately after birth. I usually ask to secure a spot prior to 37 weeks. However, I understand that every family’s needs change — so if you’ve already welcomed your baby, reach out anytime to see what availability I have.

What’s included in your postpartum doula packages?

Each package is designed to meet your family’s specific needs, but may include:

  • Newborn care and soothing techniques
  • Feeding support (breastfeeding, bottle, or combo)
  • Light meal prep and tidying
  • Emotional support for new parents
  • Sibling adjustment help
  • Resources and referrals for additional care

Every family is different, and we’ll personalize your package to ensure you feel supported where you need it most.

How long are doula visits?

Visits typically last 4-6 hours, though I offer flexible scheduling for daytime and occasional overnight support. Together, we’ll create a rhythm that works best for your recovery and family needs.

Do you support all types of births and families?

Yes — absolutely. I support all birth experiences and family structures, including cesarean recovery, home births, single parents, LGBTQ+ families, and blended households. Every family deserves compassionate, judgment-free care during this transition.

Can you help with night-time or overnight support?

Yes. Overnight support can be especially helpful in those early weeks. I can help with nighttime feedings, diaper changes, and establishing gentle sleep rhythms — so you can get meaningful rest while your baby is cared for.

What if I just need a few visits or flexible hours?

That’s perfectly fine! I offer smaller care packages for families who want short-term or flexible support. We’ll discuss what feels right for you and build a plan that meets your needs and comfort level.
